Apparently Melbourne and Fontaine were not the only players signed before the deadline. Late yesterday Ross County F.C. announced that they had signed 19 year old midfielder and Estonian international Mattias Kait (above) from Fulham F.C.. Kait will be on loan at Victoria Park until the end of the season. Although he has yet to feature for Fulham he has earned 12 caps for his country, scoring four times (against Cyprus and Gibraltar before we get too excited).
It has also been announced that defender Kenny van der Weg had his contract terminated by…wait for it…”mutual consent,” even though it has been reported in the press that it was not mutual, but rather requested by van der Weg. I can’t say that this is terribly surprising. van der Weg rejected a new deal with the club at the end of last season but- apparently- found no other takers for his services and returned to County on a one year deal what would have expired at the end of this season.
There is also a rumor making the rounds that VDW won’t be the last person to leave the club before the end of the season, and specifically that there will soon be 50% fewer Frenchman at the club.
There’s a plan, right? There has to be a plan…
