I’ll make this short and sweet…
A little over a year ago I almost shut this site down for reasons I’ve detailed elsewhere.
In the end, though, I decided to keep going with a slightly different approach: I’d only post when I wanted to, about things I wanted to, and I wouldn’t fret over not posting about things that I probably should have.
What this has meant in real terms is that I might go a week without posting- maybe because I’ve got other stuff going on in my life (stop laughing) or maybe just because I’m being lazy.
It also means that I might skip things that I don’t want to write about even though in the past I would have felt as though I should write about them. Let me just pick a totally random example: Ross County are in last place so there haven’t been a lot of weekly match re-caps.
Here’s where the good news and the “thank you” come into play. Following my new approach has, by every metric, worked. The site’s “numbers” were better across the board this year than they were in 2017 even though I posted less frequently and comments (yay!) were way up. There are still a few of you who comment on posts via Twitter (shakes fist) rather than on the site, but I can’t win every battle!
So, thanks for sticking with me, thanks for re-engaging with the site via comments, and if it matters (and I hope it does!), know that I’m enjoying doing this again and have no plans to stop in the near future.
