WeeFuse’s Virtual Turntable: Uncensored!

cat-dj

Many months ago- before I drastically scaled back my output here- I picked a random date on the calendar (today) and decided that whatever was on my iPod was going up as a post.  No “big idea” here, more just to give you an unedited view of the length and breadth of my musical interests.  This list represents about 2500 of the 15,000+ songs I have in my possession, so it’s a good sample, but still only a sample.  Some of the names on the list are represented by only a single song on my iPod at the moment, others by multiple albums.

I guess, also, I’m kind of hoping that one of you has a, “Wait!  I like them too!” moment kind of like Joe F. and I did a while ago regarding the Alarm.  So, take a look  and have at it in the comment section!  Or you can watch the presidential debate…

I could definitely run 5k or more to this playlist!

      My actual 5K playlist is:

      Ace of Spades – Motorhead
      Kick out the Jams- MC5
      Sabotage – Beastie Boys
Blue Orchid (Live) – White Stripes
New Day Rising – Husker Du
      Locomotive – Motorhead
      Search and Destroy – Stooges
Busted (Live) – The Black Keyes
      The Descent – Bob Mould
5 O’clock in the Morning – The Donnas
      Alcohol – The Dropkick Murphys

Not necessarily in this order, just hit “shuffle” and go!

Yanno, there’s an awful lot of overlap there. And then there’s stuff (on both sides I’m sure) that are so diametrically opposed it’s likely comical. Though this reminds me I haven’t listened to some of these in quite a while; time to go dust off some stuff – I think I’ll start with The Cult. 🙂

It’s a good list, especially Devo. There needs to be more Devo. What you are missing though is some Aussie music, I only saw Lanie Lane and Midnight Oil. You need some Icehouse, Models, Hunters & Collectors, The Clouds, The Falling Joys, The Divinyls, Tame Impala and The Angels (to name a few) to round out your collection.

Shouldn’t a list of Australian music also include Hoodoo Gurus and INXS?
