My new Ross County F.C. away top arrived in today’s mail and here is what you need to know.
First and foremost, the wonky placement of the club badge seen on earlier versions of the shirt has been fixed as you can see in the picture of Liam Boyce and Craig Curran (above). Keep in mind that most images of the shirt- including those in the online club shop!- looked like this:
Not only has the badge been centered between the stripes, it also appears that it has been reduced a bit in size. Whatever the case, it looks MUCH better and I’m glad I took a chance on it.
Second, despite Macron’s, ah, “interesting” approach to sizing (more on that in a sec) it fits perfectly…sort of. It’s a bit long, but truth be told everything I own that fits my shoulders and chest is a bit long and since a football top is generally meant to be tucked in, I can’t really have any complaints. The neck hole is also big enough for even my massive (I wear a 7 3/4 ball cap) head, unlike previous years (I’m looking directly at YOU Carbrini!) despite reports of their be issues.
Oh, right the sizing. Apparently Macron has decided to us “continuous sizing,” starting with infants and going all the way up to, I don’t know, “John Candy.” However, rather than having the smallest size be “1” or “A” and increasing all the way up to “26” or “Z,” they instead chose the following sequence:
5XS, 4XS, 3XS, 2XS, XS, (sizes move rom youth to adult at this point) S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL
I, who usually am on the large/extra large border am a 4XL. I guess it doesn’t matter- it fits!
Finally, this is my first white County top.
While I have your attention, here are links to pictures of the County tops I own.
