Today takes much the same form as yesterday but with a bit of an upgrade in terms of the live performances. The highlights include the “Stars of Rockabilly” feature a few of the remaining stars of the “original” rockabilly era which lasted from about 1953 until the arrival of the Beatles on American shores in early 1964. Other acts today include Big Sandy and the Fly-Rite Boys, Rocky Burnette (a performer in his own right and the son of rockabilly pioneer Johnny Burnette), and Darrel Higham (above), a member of the Kat Men (which also includes Slim Jim Phantom of the Stray Cats), and the former guitarist for/husband of rockabilly goddess Imelda May.
