Well, you knew it was coming, but you just didn’t know who it was going to be. It’s not Mark Ridgers (phew!) or even Craig Samson (phew!). It’s Gary Woods!! Wait. Who?
Woods is a 24 year old (soon to be 25) from Kettering, England who began his career at Manchester United F.C., but, as you might imagine, never made a senior appearance there, leaving when he was just 18. He then spent five years at Doncaster Rovers F.C. which culminated with him being their starting goalkeeper in 2012-2013. At the end of the season Doncaster returned to the Championship after dropping to League One for a single season. Despite this success Woods was released by the club at the end of the season.
Woods signed with fellow Championship side Watford F.C. for the 2013-2014 season but made no senior appearances for the club and following the season dropped back down to League One in search of playing time. He found it- or at least more of it- at Leyton Orient, where he started a total of 23 matches. He joins County on loan until January of 2016.
