With apologies to my Celtic-supporting readers and my very own Ross County F.C., of those 2015-2016 Scottish Premiership kits that have been released thus far Aberdeen’s (above) are the best. With this in mind, I must what in the world possessed them to wear the combination below in the their first competitive match of the seasons, a Europa League match against Macedonian side FK Shkëndija.
No, I get it. As the visiting team they couldn’t very well wear their all red home kit because it would clash with Shkëndija’s home kit. I also understand that wearing their full away kit wouldn’t work either because both clubs would be wearing all black from the waist down. So, this is the only combination that doesn’t clash with Shkëndija’s kit. Of course, it looks terrible. Really, really terrible. So that’s half of my “issue” with this. Here’s the other half…
How does a club that, in the absence of Rangers, has pretensions to unseat Celtic of the Scottish title and has known for months that they were going to be playing in Europe not have a third kit?! Failing that, how the club not check the, I don’t know, INTERNET, see what Shkëndija’s kits look like and spend a few hundred pounds putting together some white shorts and socks to add to their away top to make a “third” or “change” kit?! I dunno, kind of like they did just two years ago!
Or, failing even that, why not take a trip to the club shop (it’s right there at the stadium and very nice, I’ve been there!) and grab a bunch of these-
Yup, an all yellow keeper kit (the club has had yellow as part of their away/third/change strip in the past and yellow and black were it’s primary colors prior to the Second World War). They have all green one too. They also have an orange and grey/blue based training range as well.
Sorry, it’s late. They’ve made me angry. I’m done.
