Ross County Signings and a few other matters…

Ross County F.C. today confirmed the statuses of several players.  First, as expected, Paul Quinn has signed a contract extension that will see him finish out the season in Dingwall.  Second, as rumored, Michael “Midge” Gardyne has extended his loan from Dundee United through the end of the season.  Gardyne is currently injured, but this is good news nonetheless.  Finally, center back Cameron Burgess will be joining the club on loan from Fulham F.C. for the remainder of the season.  All good news, and still…

…I’m waiting for the signing(s) that say to me, “The club is going to pull out all the stops to make sure it is not relegated.”  Hasn’t happened yet, may never happen under the circumstances, yet still I hope…

Yoann Arquin is talking smack about how his current club, St. Mirren, is much more likely to avoid relegation than his former club, County.  Oh how I’d like to see somebody get stuck in against him this Saturday and shut him up.

In other news, longtime Manchester United and Scotland midfielder Darren Fletcher will reportedly be sent packing during the current transfer window.  Fletcher, still only 30, is healthy (in every way) for the first time in years, but apparently LVG doesn’t see his value to the club the same way that SAF did, so the writing is on the wall.  Another midfielder is probably the last thing the New England Revolution need, but wouldn’t he look good in the red, white and blue of the Revolution!?

Speaking of the Revolution, they will make their first and only selection in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft tomorrow when they make the fifth pick (and 47th overall) in the third round.

Ronaldo (the fat one), is going to attempt a comeback with the NASL’s Fort Lauderdale Striker- a time of which he is a part owner- at the age of 38.  The three-time world player of the year promises that he will “get in shape” in case the coach needs him.  I feel I must point out that the club currently has no coach.  As far as getting in shape goes, I’ll avoid the obvious, “Well, ’round’ is a shape'” joke here an simply say that Ronaldo had trouble staying in shape before his knees went south on him and before he was pushing 40.
