As you read this I am traversing almost the entire “Northeastern Megalopolis” on my way from Western Massachusetts to the D.C.- Baltimore Metro Area. As many of you know I’ve been training for almost two months for the “Kilt and Craic Run” at the Timonium (MD) Irish Festival, the first of four 5K races I’ll be participating in between now and the end of the year. During the course of my training I’ve managed to drop my 5K time from 36:30 to 26:30, with my goal this weekend to be under 26:00 and to be as close to 24:00 by the time my fourth race rolls around. I don’t know if I’ll get that far or not, but I felt great during my first indoor match earlier in the week and that’s good enough. Anyway…
There’s a chance that I won’t be able to post anything tomorrow about Ross County F.C.’s match against Kilmarnock F.C. or after the New England Revolution’s match against Columbus Crew S.C., but only a chance. I’m racing with/staying with my best friend and his family and, well, you know, kids tend to cause their parents to go to bed early so I should have plenty of free time! So, look forward to me waxing poetically about how Ross County are moving up the table and how the Revolution have dispatched the Crew and are moving on to the Eastern Conference Finals. I hope. Please.
Oh, right, I almost forgot!
It might be an Irish Festival, but I’ll be wearing my Scottish kilt:
A Scotland top (mind is long-sleeved):
And white Scotland socks…
Enjoy your footie this weekend!!
