Ross County F.C.: There’s Good News…And Bad News.

Terry Dunfield

Terry Dunfield

Earlier this week Ross County signed midfielder Martin Wood at least through January in order to provide cover for the injured Rocco Quinn (out for up to six months through hip surgery).  Today they signed Canadian international Terry Dunfield…to provide cover for injured club captain Richard Brittain.  Brittain will be out for a number of weeks through surgery on his foot.  Just when things were looking up…or at least a bit better than they were two weeks ago!  Anyway, about this Dunfield fellow (above)…

A native of Vancouver, BC, the 32 year old Dunfield began his career as a 15 year old in the Manchester City youth set up, eventually making his first team debut in 2001.  Further opportunities were limited at City and despite being offered a new contract, he moved on signing a three year deal with Bury F.C..  A broken knee cap kept him out of action from January of 2005 through July 2007 when he return for two years with Macclesfield Town F.C..  This was followed by a year with Shrewsbury Town F.C., and then a return to North America where he played with Vacouver Whitecaps and Toronto F.C. (where he was the club’s MVP in 2012) for two seasons each.  Dunfield signed with Oldham Athletic F.C. in February of this year, but was released by the club at the end of the season without having made an appearance.

Internationally Dunfield has appeared for Canada on 14 occasions (with one goal) since 2010 including one in which he was captain.
