As far as I know the club hasn’t said anything official about it, but as 20 year old defender Jim Fenlon is giving interviews as a “Ross County player” rather than as a “trialist,” I’m going to go ahead and assume it’s a done deal!
Fenlon played in over 40 matches in all competitions for AFC Wimbledon over two seasons for the League Two side and from what I’ve seen of him on video he’s a big lad who is not afraid to get stuck in. Let’s hope that leads to a lot of opposition forwards thinking twice about bringing the ball into the 18 yard box and not a lot of PKs going against Ross County!
It’s probably safe to say that there will be another signing or two before the season opens. Although the squad is now at 22 players, trialist Rosario Latouchent’s fate remains to be decided, and several of the players (Ferries, MacKillop, MacLeod, etc.) may not be part of the senior side.
I’m tempted to say that I’d like to see some more “firepower” brought in to help with the offense, but I keep forgetting that Liam Boyce has yet to kick a ball in anger- I don’t believe he’s played in any of the pre-season matches to date and thus he remains very much an unknown quantity. In any case, the current roster looks like this:
