I’m going to do my best to piece together all of the information I could gather on the trialists currently at Ross County.
We know from things that manager Derek Adams has said in the press that there are a) six of them (though there are apparently more on the way), b) they are from the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, France, and England, and c) that there are two 20 year olds and one 18 year old.
Using that information as well as the first hand knowledge of some Ross County supporters and supporters from the trialists’ current/most recent clubs, it appears that we can identify at least four of the players by name. They are.
Jordi Balk: A 20 year old Dutch defender currently playing for FC Utrecht’s youth side.
Benedict “Ben” Frempah: A 19 year old English defender recently released by Leicester City F.C.
Jim Fenlon: A 20 year old English defender who recently left AFC Wimbledon after failing to agree to terms with the club.
Rosario Latouchent: An 18 year old French youth international currently playing with the reserve team of Ligue 1 side SM Caen.
So, that’s four of the six tentatively identified. Factor in their ages and their countries of origin and that, by process of elimination, means that the remaining trialists are a Belgian and an Italian, both at least 21 years of age.
And after all of that, the club still haven’t signed anyone in weeks with less than a month to go before the opening match of the 2014-2015 season.
Everything is fine…
