The 2014-2015 Manchester United F.C. Kits Are Here- And They’re TERRIBLE

MUFC15

Way back in February I thought these were going to be the 2014-2015 Manchester United kits and I extolled their virtues at length.  I was wrong, horribly, horribly wrong.  The actual Manchester United kits (at least the home and away shirts) are in the picture above (sorry about the watermarks) and they could not be worse.  I’ll explain- briefly- why that is, but frankly, if you can’t see it for yourself I can’t really help you.

It’s the Chevrolet logo.

It’s big, ugly, shiny, made to look three dimensional, it is, in a word, OBTRUSIVE.

Up to this point I’ve had no quarrel with the Glazers owning the club, but it’s almost as though Malcolm Glazer’s will had a codicil in it that read, “…and do whatever you can to alienate the supporters who don’t already hate us.”

It’s as though having the option to highlight the Chevrolet that produced the Corvette or the classic ’57 Chevy, they said, “Nah, go with this”-

What a travesty.

PS:  I know I normally discuss the entire kit in these posts but there’s nothing that a pair of shorts and a pair of socks could do to redeem either of these shirts.

The white one looks like something that should be worn by the commissary staff at one of the GM plants. “Would you like fries or steamed broccoli with that, sir?”

Holy smoke, those are bad. Liverpool’s gonna have to work hard to come up with something worse…

And you’re right, its entirely on the Chevy logo. How many different ways could they have made that logo and not have it sink the entire shirt? 10’s, hundreds?
