It’s “Dark Blue Day” in Edinburgh as Ross County hope to bring over 1000 away supporters to Tynecastle as the club face Heart of Midlothian in what may be the most important match of the season so far.
Those supporters (many of whom will be traveling to the match for free as the club- including the players- have chipped in to hire as many coaches as needed) know that a County win against an already-relegated Hearts side will go a long way toward lifting the club out of any danger of relegation from the Scottish Premiership. The importance of a win against Hearts would be further magnified if Kilmarnock are able to defeat second-last Partick Thistle, putting County four points clear of Partick with only four matches to play.
County will be missing Melvin de Leeuw- arguably their best and most consistent player this season- through suspension, but it’s possible that goalkeeper Michael Fraser and midfielder Stuart Kettlewell could return to the team after injury layoffs- both played in the club’s U20 clash against Inverness Caledonian Thistle F.C. earlier in the week. A match the County youth side won 2-0, by the way.
I’m going to predict a 3-1 win for County with goals from Yoann Arquin, Jordan Slew, and Evangelos Oikonomou. If the latter two score it will be the first Ross County goal for each.
Get in there, County!!
