A Short Vacation
If you are reading this on Friday morning I am already in Cleveland, OH for the seventh annual national gathering of the Society of Rugged Intellectuals.
This four day festival of straight-up awesomeness will feature- among other events and activities- an Indians game, a visit to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, fine dining, and a visit to both a National Park and a National Historical Site.
Previous gatherings have included such things as competing in a team duathlon (2013), long distance hiking (2007, 2008, 2010), and BBQ and music in Memphis (2011). The full list is as follows:
2013: Cleveland, OH
2012: F.O.R.D. (Duatholon) Fredericksburg, VA
2011: Memphis, TN
2010: Chuck Keiper Trail, Renovo, PA
2009: Moosehead Lake, ME
2008: Cunningham Falls State Park/Catoctin Mountain National Park, MD
2007: Big Run State Park/Savage River State Forest, MD
The location and “theme” of next year’s gathering is currently under discussion and 2015 is tentatively set as the annual Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Festival in Nevada.
What does this mean for you?
It means that between now and early next week my current series of articles on MLS will be on hold. I will do my best to pop in with a brief comment on the Ross County and New England Revolution matches this weekend.
Until then, adventure awaits!
