In the Ross County F.C. line-up tonight against Highland League Nairn County F.C. is English left back Luke O’Brien. The trialist is a 23 year old product of the Bradford City A.F.C. youth system and joined the senior set up at Valley Parade when he was only 18. A year later, in 2008-2009 he was the club’s Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Players Player of the Year, Supporters Club Player of the Year, and scored the Bantams Goal of the Year. Though listed at only 5’8″, O’Brien was able to lock down a spot in the club’s back line and he continued to feature as a first choice player during the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 seasons. He also pitched in with 6 assists during his final season at Bradford City- the most on the team. It appears he became a victim of a change in management and he moved on and up (from League Two to League One) to Exeter City F.C. joining the club for the second half of the 2011-2012 season.
