Ross County F.C. today signed 22 year old striker Gary Glen, formerly of Heart of Midlothian F.C. to a one year deal. It is worth nothing that Glen chose to sign with County over several other SPL sides. Glen averaged about ten matches a season for the Edinburgh side after making his debut at age 16 and regular playing time for the Staggies could be just what he needs to once again display the form that made him a regular at several youth international levels for Scotland.
He is also sure to benefit from County’s good track record for developing young talent- there are a surprising number of former Ross County youth products playing in the SPL and in the higher leagues in England. Working on the assumption that Colin McMenamin- last year’s Golden Boot winner in the First Division- will continue to anchor County’s front line, Glen will be competing with the likes of Sam Morrow, Steven Craig, and Kurtis Byrne for playing time up front.
Remember Gary, the coffee is for closers.
