I can’t believe I’m going to say this…
…but I’m considering selling- or trading if the offer is good enough- of my soccer shirt (shorts, socks, hats, jackets, tracksuits, bags, etc.) collection. I’m not going to stop collecting, but the sheer volume of things is beginning to overwhelm my shoe box-sized apartment. In short, I’m looking to move some older, less-loved stuff in order to make room for new stuff. I haven’t thought this through in any great detail, but this is what my closet looked like a year and a half ago and I’ve added quite a bit to it since then:
This picture doesn’t actually show the full extent of things. Yes, that’s half of my closet’s hanger space dedicated to my collection, but on the shelf above it are sweatshirts, jackets, bags, etc., and there are two drawers full of shorts and socks as well! Oh, and a bunch of hats and jackets on my coat rack.
As I said above, I haven’t worked out all of the details yet, but here’s what I’m sure about at the moment:
- Items range from size “small” to “extra large.”
- Prices will be reasonable.
- Anything Celtic or Rangers (and there’s a lot of both) will be for sale.
- No Scottish, U.S. national team, Ross County gear will be for sale.
- New England Revolution gear will not be for sale…maybe.
- An Argentina (away) shirt will be for sale.
- A PSV Eindhoven track top still with the tags on it(!) will be for sale.
- A Pumas (Mexico) boot bag will be for sale.
- Gear from clubs I don’t really follow (AEK Athens, Bayern Munich, Benfica, etc.) will be for sale.
So, with all of that being said, the reason for this post is to gauge the interest level of Tanner Ba’ readers- I’m not about to catalog all of this stuff if nobody wants it! I’d be interested in the UNAM Pumas gear. Probably any other Mexican league team stuff as well. Any Chivas and/or Club America stuff I can use for reading incentives for the kids at my school.
The only Mexican gear I have is the boot bag. It’s navy blue with white piping, the main compartment has a “U” shaped zipper, is half mesh, and has a 3D Pumas logo on it. It also has a side pocket that will fit most shin guards or a pair of socks and a wallet/keys, etc.- it has “PUMAS” down the side of that pocket as well. It has a carry handle as well as a longer strap that fits over the shoulder. It’s used, but you’d never no it. If you’re interested email me and we can talk price, I can send you a picture, etc.
You won’t by chance be putting that beautiful Leeds shirt up for sale would you?
I would love to see what you’ve got, I’m not sure how much I would buy as I’m fairly picky in terms of what shirts I buy these days, but mostly I’d just like to see a full catalog of everything you have.
Also, in case you didn’t hear, Liverpool and Roma are playing at Fenway on July 25th
I won’t say it’s off the table, but I’ve done some research and depending on the combination of size, shipping costs, and condition, retail is anywhere from $50-$100, so for a large in near perfect condition you’d have to make me a knockout offer!
Since I predominantly buy shirts based on how well they appeal to me, I have to see the item(s). I think I’ll just swing by and raid the closet personally.

I might be interested in some stuff, but its somewhat random – I’d probably have to know some of the particulars. I can limit it to: shirts only, L or XL, No Old Firm. But from there it’ll just depend on what you’ve got and whether it catches my fancy.
